Abstract

This note discusses the parameterization of a conventional event history model that allows the researcher to directly recover the parameters that would be obtained from a direct estimation of the discrete duration model. This method is essentially that described in Yamaguchi (1991) but deserves to be more widely known. Copyright 1998 by Blackwell Publishing Ltd
