After providing a general presentation of the role of the Chief Competition Economist’s team (CET), this article surveys some of the main developments at the Directorate General for Competition over 2022/2023. In particular, the article reviews the Commission antitrust investigation of Amazon marketplace and the Amazon “Buy Box”, the expansion of manufacturing support with two recent frameworks for manufacturing aid, and the MOL/OMV merger.
